It's a film starring MK and A Olsen. It seems Hollywood loves the idea of twins separated at birth, as in the La Lohan film The Parent Trap, or two identical strangers who actually meet each other, as in ITT. The second one is much harder to believe. So anyway, the film starring the Olsen twins, also includes the talents of Steve Guttenberg and Kirstie Alley. One thing I've concluded about the Olsen twins is that one of them can act better than the other. Which one is which I can't say exactly. I know they are interchanged throughout the film, a la imdb, but I don't know who was who at any given moment. And no, I can't say I lasted through the whole film; I was preparing to go out that nite to see Doc Martin, the house DJ and let me just say he rocked; Big Time! Having watched the Parent Trap as well, I can sincerely say Lindsey Lohan is a phenomenal actress... compared to these two.

I was also so fortunate as to catch the Wizard of Oz on TV. A much better film, if I may say. A very ingenious and innovative story. And who else doesn't think that Dorothy's friends, Scarecrow, Tinman and the cowardly Lion are not flamboyantly gay? Not just b/c they sing and dance, although that helps, but because of all their mannerisms. Oh and plus, all that make up!

I've decided to revive my blog!

Its been foreva, freal, but I decided to revive my blog. So for the past few months, I've been working at a music company in Soho NYC and its been fun, although somewhat hectic at times. recently, I've decided to pursue a career in acupuncture and thats going to entail going back to school for a few years. I'm looking into some good schools in NYC and i think it will be reallyl great to learn more about holistic healing and stuff. Plus, its a tribute to my chinese background and I'm already a firm believer in Qi, which is an energy life force that exists in everything, people plants, animals, the earth, etc. Being healthy includes having a healthy balance of Qi, ensuring that it flows naturally from one part of your body to another. Acupuncture helps to rectify any blockages that may exist. ANd although I hate needles! Acupuncture actually doesn't really hurt, its nothing like a hypodermic needle which is hollow. It pinches just slightly but feels nothing like a piercing.
I think its a good decision in my life because so far, ever since graduating has been sort of lacking direction. I worked in Berkeley shortly after graduating. I left that job after two years. I moved back to the east coast and began working in film. i did that for two years. I studied audio engineering for a few months and then got this job I'm at now. I feel like I should really buckle down and decide what it is exactly I want to be.
Working as an acupuncturist sounds really appealing to me because I can help people, which is something I really want to do. I can use preventative medicine and help heal people who are feeling sick.

its before the but crack of dawn

and I'm up and at work. lucky me to be one of those early risers who can't seem to fall asleep early no matter how early I drag myself to bed. I'm in the office now and I'm the only one here, hence the blog the entry. I ordered breakfast a while ago, am going to be making coffee soon and already did some paper work. What can I say? I'm a busy girl.
being a PA sucks ass.
But thats ok, most jobs kinda suck anyways. thats my big revelation.

I should take pictures of all these freaks I see in the subway system. The other day, I saw some guy dancing with a blow up doll...actually expecting to be paid money for it. Then there was some dude with a electronic keyboard and he was surrounded by those dolls that dance when you play music, or make noise. He was playing some organ music and those little dolls where all dancing, it was crazy I tell you, crazy.

went to a wedding today

It was one of my dad's friend's kids. Well he's not a kid , he's actually 35. He's chinese and his new wife is korean. so they had a little bit of a korean ceremony. the festivities were celebratory. yeah, that sounded nice the way I just wrote that... i don't know what else to say except that the best man's speech wasn't funny, even though he was trying to be, but I'm being mean. My dad's friend sang a few songs. He loves elvis and wants to be him. He's an asian elvis basically. Which reminds me of when I was in hong kong and there was a guy who dressed like elvis and went out to parties in lan kwai fong and it was funny. I saw him numerous times at numerous places. he had the white bespeckled suit, the sunglasses, the hair and everything.
Dreams are weird aren't they? I had a dream I was in Barnes and Noble but it was more like strand books, there were ladders to climb and everything. By the time i got to the top, I wanted to buy a scarlett etienne cd and I found one in the music section. But then I checked my back pocket and only had 20 bucks and the cd cost 38.99. I actually remember looking at it and seeing that amount and thinking,"shucks, I can't get the cd, after all the climbing of ladders I did."

Winter Music Conference

ITs going to be starting in miami FL on the 23 of march and unfortunately I cannot go. I still can't believe it, how quickly things are moving. I'm 25 now, but not for long. Getting older just puzzles me sometimes. What will it feel like to be 30? probably the same as it feels to be 24, 25, or 26. Who knows, I guess only time will tell. I go back to work on Tuesday. That should be interesting. A part of me wants to go back, another would love to just continue bumming around like I've been doing for the whole break. Surprisingly though, as much as I've been bumming around, I've not published a new post here once. That is, until today. But truly, my break is almost over. And I just wanted to add a post since I know I haven't posted in here in forever.
I still don't much know what to write in this blog. Other than daily musings and other jib jab. I guess that will do it for the day. WElcome in the new year, have a glass of sherry. ALthough I don't much drink, I had a stella artois yesterday. It didn't do much for me.

Colon and Candy Canes

Things are very weird in this world. We are so trivial in the grand scheme of things. Our sun won't explode but as it ages it may grow huge into a red giant and encapsulate earth. unless we figure out a way to shift our gravitational pull using asteroids and such, we will become part of the sun. then after some time, the sun will shrink into a white dwarf and stay like forever...until it collides with another star or something. really interesting to think about all the stuff that's out there.
I went home to new jersey for the weekend and had a good time with my family. it was nice. we are all getting along pretty well now. while I was home i saw the kanye west video on tv. MTV had a making the video special and I was even in some of the scenes on TV. it was cool. Michel Gondry is such a genius. Somehow someday, I hope to work with him again. For those of you that see the video, I helped set up the rotating pianos in the scene with jon brion. I didn't even know who jon brion was while I was working on the video. but he's worked with fiona apple before who I like and he scored Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. eternity is deep man.

I haven't written here for a few days. I mean, I get the gist of what the phrase means, but I just don't get it. It makes me wonder what I am "to a Fault".

Can you say, "I am wrong to a fault"? Does it work if the phrase you are using is negative, is what I'm trying to get at. He is stupid to a fault. Can you say that?

why are you obsessing, you might be wondering? Well someone used this phrase at work today. and then I read a kate winslet interview and she used it again. you might be so bored out your mind right now reading this. But I still am confused. Am I confused to a fault? I guess so.

the nature of the beast...

Wow, its already Dec. I'm feeling sick today and didn't go into work. I'm stuck in bed and yet I still feel guilty about not being at work. such is that nature of the beast. I guess it's just the type of industry i'm in and the demands it has. Its very demanding and very high maintenance. Which is ok by me. But its not ok when I'm sick because I can't give 100% and if you're not going to be giving 100% then you might as well not be working because then you guck things up, and that can get messy.

After watching Walk the Line, I'm officially overexuberant about Johnny Cash. I say that but I'm loving his music and his life was so interesting and inspiring. I'm like obsessed with downloading his music now.

24 days till christmas. Haven't gone shopping at all.

I might be getting a one-bedroom apartment in Queens soon. I still have the sneaky suspicion that no one is reading. Probably because I haven't told anyone about the blog Regardless, I'm a little scared as to what I can write, should not write and what not. Working on a TV show, I'm sure you have some guidelines as to what is privileged information and what is not. That being announced, I actually don't have any juicy hollywood gossip. I'm merely speculating.

That sums just about up most of thinking. I speculate a lot. I think 'what if' and imagine all sorts of scenarios. I drift out of myself and imagine all sorts of possibilities. For myself, for the world around me, for others. I occupy myself with these thoughts and imaginings and at the end of the day, it keeps me sane.

Sanity is another issue that is debatable. I think George W. Bush is officially insane, but he's the president. Just listen to how to answers questions or rather doesn't answer them. No one who is sane would give the sorts of responses he spits out.

Yet he's the leader of the free world. Most politicians are insane too. They don't know how to answer the simplest questions. Yet they think that the answers they supply are totally sufficient. They spend money on things like war and destruction but can't seem to find money to end world hunger. World hunger should not exist. Thats crazy to me. That in our modern day and age, little children are starving and without water. Forget little children, how about any person. What about politicians delaying giving much needed supplies after devastating natural disasters? Thats crazy to me.

Enough of this tirade. I never meant to get so political. Thats the thing that bugs me most though. Someone thinking that I'm getting all political, when these are real life issues dealing with real live people. Who are suffering right now. You don't have to be political to care or to think about it. You just have to have a pulse and somewhat of a brain.

November 27, 2005

Well, news for today. This is my first blog entry. I've had friends who've had their own websites for years, but I've never ventured forward. That is, until today. Somehow I feel like no one will be reading this.
I went house hunting today, well actually apartment hunting if you're going to be precise. I found this really cute apartment and its a one bedroom and I just had the feeling that I'm going to be moving into this one soon. It wasn't exceptionally big nor was it exceptionally convenient, but I just had that feeling that I sometimes get. We'll see! That was it.
Thanksgiving is officially over for 2005. It was quite the experience. Well, to be honest, it was uneventful. I spent the day with my family then the rest of the weekend I watched movies and saw some friends from highschool. I don't know why I haven't kept in touch with more people from high school. I guess because I lived in Cali for a few years and it was tough to just reappear after those years and be all, "I'm back!" but whatever, maybe I just should do that.

One of my friend's from highschools older sister is cutting an album. Thats hella cool. I wanted to ask her more about it but never got the chance to. Thats so cool. I wonder how she's doing it, i should probably just ask.

I go back to work tomorrow. Yes, Back to Love Monkey. More 12 hour + days. Joy. Well, I'm getting paid and thats all that counts. Just not working would suck. And its actually a pretty good job, it pays really good. And, and thats it for ta day
